Every now and then an ad campaign makes us viewers lunge for our TV remote controls, either to change the channel or simply mute the annoying spots. All that lunging sure helps burn calories during long stretches of couch surfing.
So my thanks to Chevrolet’s “Real People” commercials for inspiring the most lunges in the past year. Chevy has saved me a lot of money, not on a car purchase, but in not having a gym membership.
If these far-too-easily-impressed flunkies hyperventilating over a giant corporation’s awards are “real people,” then give me fakes. I’ll take a celebrity spokesperson. A talking car. A gecko.

I hope it helps compel Chevy to hire a new ad agency. I’ll miss the workout, but I can always buy a bigger belt.
Update 5/28/17: Here’s an amusing report by one of the “real people” in the ad…
