Very useful! I think I have to create a very well done CV after read your blog, thanks for sharing. I agree with “It’s what you did that matters, not what you were supposed to do” But what happens if you have more working experience than education?

Freddy’s comment: I’m glad you found the article useful! Having more experience than education may be fine for many jobs. If you need more education, there are plenty of online options.

As a professionally employed person one step away from the geriatric set, some of your advice is smart
-alliky and not doing newbies to the job market a favor. Serious employers can see right through “hospitality service professional”. Best to be straight with the lingo but be sure to clue them in to the related skills. But you had some good pointers for us old schoolers.

Thanks for the good advice. I heard about the “leave out your address” tip from an unemployed friend who said a counselor at the unemployment office told job seekers that some employers in our area were red-lining folks who lived more than 20 miles away from their offices. I guess I need to rework my résumé…
